Aubrey D. Payton Sr., age 70, 3304 N Peniel, Bethany, died Tuesday in a city nursing home after a long illness. Services Thursday 10 am in Merritt Chapel. Directed by Bill Merritt Funeral Services with burial in Bethany Cemetery.

Payton was born in Milo and came to Bethany in 1937. He was a retired painting contractor and a member of the Knights of Pythias.

He is survived by his wife, Addie Mae three sons, Aubrey D. Jr., 4116 Cunningham Drive, Wendell H., 5805 N Donald and Curtis W Mustang, and three sisters, Mrs. Berta Foster, 2221 N Indianan, and Mrs. Lois Maddox and Mrs. Bessie Cross both of Fort Worth, Tex.
