Nellie Jean Hardin, 74, of Bethany, passed away 10/7/09. She was born 8/17/35 in Hermitage, AR to Claude L. and Georgia Sweeney. Nellie graduated from Hermitage High School in 1953 and married John T. Hardin in Memphis, TN on 3/23/1955. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Valley Springs, AR. Nellie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Sidney Sweeney and Jack Sweeney; and sister, Verna Sweeney. She is survived by her children, Mike Hardin and wife Lynne and Sheila Ray and husband Jeff; granddaughters, Heather Shea and Marti Hardin; great granddaughter, Katelynn Shea; brothers, Claude Sweeney, Jr. and Harrel Sweeney; sisters, Emily Booker, Irma Edwards, and Jo Noland; and a beloved host of nieces and nephews. The family will be greeting friends at the funeral home Friday from 5pm-8pm. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, 10/10/09 at the Bill Merritt Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mercy Hospice.
