Funeral services for Dorman Bump, 62, Claremore, will be held on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, 2:00 PM at Sageeyah Baptist Church, Claremore. Brother Terry Lawson and Brother Jeremy Bump will officiate. Burial will follow in Lone Elm Cemetery, Claremore. Services are entrusted to Stephens Memorial Chapel. Mr. Bump was born Feb. 28, 1947 in Wenatchee, Wash. to Albert T. and Cora L. (Hopkins) Bump. He departed this life on October 4, 2009 at the age of 62 years 7 months and 6 days. Dorman had been a resident of Claremore most of his life. He worked for the City of Claremore in the Parks Department for many years. Dorman was married to Kathy Miller on May 2, 2004 in Bentonville, Arkansas. He was a very talented musician and had played in several bands over the years, and he was on several radio and television programs in the 1970's. Dorman had been in the race horse business, both quarter horse and thoroughbreds; he was also a jockey. He was very active in Claremore Little League program; having coached and umpired for several years. He also refereed Claremore Junior High and High School football games. He was a very likeable person who had many friends and was well thought of. Dorman is survived by his wife Kathy of the home, first wife and mother of his children Melinda Bump of Claremore, sons Terry Bump of Pryor, Brad Bump and Jeremy Bump both of Claremore, daughter Rachael Austin of Claremore, step-daughter Pam Spears of Claremore, step-son David Mehaulic of Michigan, step-daughter Marie Ruiz of Claremore, step-daughter Debbie Cunningham of Chelsea, 25 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, brother Mike Bump of Claremore. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Leroy and sister Dovey.
