LELA MARIE HOLLOWAY

LELA MARIE HOLLOWAY, 94, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in Bluffton, she taught elementary school in Wells County at Lancaster and Murray Schools for five years. She graduated from Petroleum High School and Ball State University and was a 60 year member of South Wayne United Methodist Church and a founding member of the Southmoor Singers. She loved playing the piano and shared her musical talents with the Rescue Mission, and her church.

She is survived by her children, Judith Ann (John) Kalb and Daniel J. Holloway, both of Fort Wayne, Dr. Robert (Elaine) Holloway of Fishers and Beth (Dan) Votaw of Fort Wayne; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and brother, John J. Blair of Muncie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Holloway; parents, John O. and Carrie Blair; brother, Carl; and sister, Mary Muskoff.

Service is 1 p.m. Thursday at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, with calling two hours prior. The Rev. Keith Schreffler officiating. Graveside service is 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Stahl Cemetery in Wells County. Memorials may be made to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana, where she volunteered for many years.
