Our wonderful and loving mother, Gladys Thompson Roper, peacefully passed away, Saturday, December 18, 2004.

She was born August 24, 1920, in Vernal, Utah, to Stephen and Julia Stevens Thompson.

On September 23, 1939, she married our loving father, Von Stanley Roper, in Vernal, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on May 26, 1943. Dad passed away August 14, 1990.

Mom loved to crochet and read her many church books. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served forty years in the Primary.

She loved spending time with her family and her dear friends, Thelma and Dorothy.

Mom is survived by her children, Beverly Rasmussen, Layton; Wayne (Carol) Roper, Layton; Vivian (Scott) Donaldson, South Ogden; Ferrin (Julie) Roper; Washington Terrace; Amy (Rick) Kite, South Weber; 38 grandchildren; 96 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was also Grandma to many other young people.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Von, sons, Weston S. Roper, Lynn E. Roper, C. Eugene Rasmussen, and a grandson, Joseph Chad Larson.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Vista Care, especially Nicole and Ann for all the love and care they gave Mom.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Lindquists Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Friends and family may call at the mortuary Monday from 6 to 8 p.m., and Tuesday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

Interment, Lindquists Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
