Died of heart failure, she had gone the day before (Sunday) to the fairgrounds to receive an award for "Best Quilt" which she had made the year before.
Her death notice states she was from South Carolina, but I think that is a mis-print. She and her parents migrated in 1865 by a 3 month caravan trip to Lawrence, Kansas.
