Marie Perry Ashby

SHREVEPORT, LA - Celebration of life services for Aline Marie (Alton) Ashby, 82, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 17, 2012 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Marshall Street Chapel. Burial will be at Blanchard Memorial Cemetery, Blanchard, LA. Revs. Alton M. Ashby, Jr., Gregory Johnson, Levi Ashby and Delbert Terry will be officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, August 16, 2012 from 6 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral Home.

Mrs. Ashby was born October 9, 1929 in Orange, TX and passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Willis-Knighton Hospital. She was a native of Crowley, LA. and a resident of Blanchard, LA. After marrying her husband of 51 years, Alton M. Ashby, Sr. Mrs. Ashby was a long time member of Blanchard Church of the Nazarene. She graduated from Crowley High School and Shreveport/Bossier VoTec. as a LPN and worked several years in the nursing field. She loved her growing family all the days of her life.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Mary Kiefer Perry, an infant brother, and her husband, Alton M. Ashby, Sr.. She is survived by five sons; Alton M. Ashby, Jr. and wife Cristi, Michael D. Ashby and wife Lynne, Nathan A. Ashby and wife Jennie, James W. Ashby and wife Peggy, and Francis K. (Pete) Ashby and wife Tammy; one daughter, Debra A. Johnson and husband Greg; her "nother" kids Paul and Becky Wasson; two sisters, Opal Faulk, Faye Cocherell and husband Lawrence; brother-in-law David E. Ashby, Sr.; sister-in-law Imogene A. Bertrand; twenty four grandchildren; thirty one great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.

Honoring Grandma as pallbearers will be grandsons: Seth, Jason, Aaron, Josh, Jeremy, Jacob, Tyler and Levi Ashby, Colton Fulco and Jeremiah and Greg Johnson.

The family would like to thank the 4 West staff of Willis-Knighton North Hospital for their compassion, care and respect given to them and their mother.
