Gloucester - Daisy Scoggin McCoy, 80, died Tuesday, March 2.
A native of Georgia, she had lived in Gloucester for 42 years. She retired in 1983 as a cook at Sanders Nursing Home. She was a member of Newington Baptist Church and its Corr Sunday school class.
Survived by two daughters, Nell Ricks and Margaret Clendenen of Newport News; three sons, Hershel G. McCoy of Hampton, Wade Winfred McCoy of Gloucester and Herbert B. McCoy of Newport News; three brothers, John Wroyston Scoggin of Macon, Ga., John Quinton Maddox of Rutledge, Ga., and Ava Maddox of East Dublin, Ga.; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation from 7:30 to 9 tonight at Andrews Funeral Home.
Funeral at 2 p.m. Thursday at Newington Baptist Church by the Rev. Michael Gray and the Rev. Dave Patton. Burial in Newington Baptist Church Cemetery.
