Violet Beynon Ferree
Salt Lake
1916 - 2009
Mom truly is the sweetest word. Our wonderful mother married Glenn George Ferree (deceased) May 2, 1936 and they were happy. We were raised in a loving home, taught Christian principles, and raised with examples of service, generosity and caring. We had the best of heritages.
Children; Kent (Linda), Jill Clark (Spence), Timber Nunn (Steve), Kelly (Cozy) and 23 grandchildren, 59 greats will be forever grateful for Mom, her service to us and to others, her example and her love.
Being the eldest, she left school after eighth grade in order to help with her many younger siblings. Melba was close in age to Mom and they traded off with the chores of making 4 loaves of bread every other day, tending the children, helping with the wash and whatever else was needed.
She married Dad in Salt Lake City, Utah. They bought their first home at 980 West 3rd North before Kent was born, Jill followed, and then Tim and later their home was blessed with Kelly.
Mom's good parents, Charles Henry Beynon and Effie May Peck had 16 children, Violet, Melba, John, Dell, Thelma, Fred, Hudy, Shirley, Marge, Keith, Ron and 5 others that died before adulthood. Remaining here to say goodbye to mom are Melba, Thelma, Hudy and Keith. The rest are celebrating with Mom as they enjoy a wonderful reunion.
Everyone who knew Mom loved her, she was a friend to many, and was always eager to help. She was an awesome money manager which allowed her to also be a "no interest bank" to those low on cash. She was a great cook of pies, cakes, éclairs, candy, jams and delicious everything else. She was also a great Poker player.
Mom, we will miss you, and look forward to a sweet reunion.
