Silas Fox, 80, born Feb. 16, 1923, raised in Durant, Miss., he made his home in Bayou Vista for 46 years, passed away Thursday Nov. 13, 2003, at his Bayou Vista residence.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Patterson.
Visitation will be observed today from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City and resume Saturday at 8 a.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel by the Rev. John Elliott. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Gray.
Mr. Fox is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nell Black Fox; one son, Harlon Gale Fox and his wife, Denise of Thibodaux; one daughter, Sandi Fox and her fiance? Randy Percle of Berwick; five grandchildren, Chad Fox, Telesia Sobol, Hunnette Lege, Pamela Howard and Jonathon Fox; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jay Kellum of Meridian, Miss., and Maudie Walker of Florence, Miss.; one brother, Bill Fox of Florence, Miss.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, his father, mother, three brothers and five sisters.
