David J. Mosteller, 75, of 1946 State Route 87 Highway, Montoursville, PA died December 26, 2009 at Valley View Nursing Center after a lengthy illness.

Born April 21, 1934 in Cogan Station he was the son of H. Mansel and M. Edna Scaife Mosteller.

David retired as a Industrial Machine Salesman in 1995. He and his wife also operated their farm in Fairfield Twp. until 2007. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing and antique tractors.

David is survived by his wife the former Viola J. Hipple with whom he celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on June 3rd.

Also surviving are his children, Linda G. (fiancee Randy) Wheeler of Huntingdon; Gary D. (Cindy) Mosteller of Watsontown; Cheryl G. (Timothy) Martin of Montoursville; Annette G. (Joseph) Miller of Montoursville. Eight grandchildren, Inga Shipman and Lani Wheeler, Gary Jr., April and Angela Mosteller, Mackenzie Martin, Ryan and Rachel Miller and 11 great- grandchildren. One brother, Harold M. Mosteller, Jr. of Cogan Station, two sisters, Hannah L. Mentzer of Mechanicsburg and Emily J. McCall of Fairport, NY

Predeceased by his parents and 2 grandchildren, Katie E. Miller and Lewis L. Wheeler, IV.

The funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St. Montoursville with the Rev. Roger Mentzer, his nephew officiating. Interment will follow in Quaker Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 to 11am. Wednesday.

In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
