BOONEVILLE - Althea Cooper Van Akin, 91, died Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, at the Corinth Health and Rehab after a long illness. She was a retired LPN and a member of the Methodist church in Oxford, Ga. She was the widow of Lewis Averette Van Akin. She enjoyed caring for and helping those in need.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Edward Stacy and Bro. Warren Jones officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery in DeLand, Fla.

Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Estep of Oxford, Ga., Frances Rowell of North Myrtle Beach, Fla., and Martha Rogers of Burnsville; a son, Boyd L. Hildebrand of DeBary, Fla.; a brother, Vivien Cooper of Tampa, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a sister and five brothers.
