She was born June 12, 1907 in Shabbona, daughter of the late George and Elma (Gotham) Parrott. Ellen was a 1926 graduate of Marlette High School, married Ira J. Coltson January 12, 1927 in Kingston, he passed away February 5, 1989.
She was a past member of the White Creek Floral Club and Lamotte Presbyterian Church and attended the Marlette 1st. Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by one son: Ronald and Loris Coltson of Marlette and one daughter: Patricia and Clair Innes of Hoschton, Georgia; one sister Katherine Turner of Manhatten, Kansas; 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ira, parents George and Elma, brothers Herb, Earnest, Jim, George, Dewey, Fred; sisters Hazel and Estella. Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 10, 1999 at 11:00 am at Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette with Rev. John R. Allan officiating.
Burial was at the Kingston Cemetery in Kingston. Memorial may be given to the Marlette United Hospice or Marlette 1st Presbyterian Church. Visitation was held at the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette on Sunday 6 pm to 9 pm and Monday 1 pm to 9 pm. Casket bearers were: John Innes, Shawn, Coltson, Brian Coltson, Neal Coltson, Gary Coltson and Terry Coltson.
