Born Virgie Mae Belcher, she was the daughter of Absalom and Amanda Green Belcher and the sister of Hattie, Okey, Sylvia, Aaron, Florence , Gladys, Henry and Cecil. She was also the wife of Harry Secrist until his death in 1955.

Virgie S. Blankenship

Virgie Sechrist Blankenship,62, a resident of Belcamp for the past 6 weeks, died Wednesday, June 23 at Fallston General Hospital. She was the wife of Birl H. Blankenship.

A former resident of the Bel Air area, she resided in Washington State for the past 12 years. She was a former employee of the Fawn Grove Manufacturing Company.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Blankenship is survived by a son, Wilson H. Sechrist of Edgewood; a grandson; two sisters, Sylvia Robinson of Darlington, Florence Depzel of Baltimore and two brothers, Henry C. Belcher of Asheville, NC and Cecil C. Belcher of Street.

Funeral services were conducted from the Harkins Funeral Home, Saturday June 26, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Eugene Peterson, pastor of the Christ Our King Presbyterian Church officiating.

Interment was in the Gwinston(sp)Church Cemetery Brogue,Pa.

Serving as pallbearers were Larry Deckman, Lloyd Deckman, Victor Reitz, Ted Workman, Carroll Workman, and Helmer Glass.
