THE PARIS NEWS, Wed., Aug. 27, 1997, p. 4B: 'Morris H. 'Bill' Dicken, 76, Rt. 2, Sumner, died at 9:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, 1997, at his home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at East Paris Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Fortenberry officiating. Burial will be in Pyles Cemetery by Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Dicken residence. He was born Feb. 21, 1921, in Tulia to M.C. and Georgie Miller Dicken. He was a graduate of Paris High School and was a Baptist. He worked most of his life as a combine operator. He served in the South Pacific with the Army during World War II. He married Gayle Wisely May 16, 1981. Surviving are his wife; a son, Tommy Glenn Tallant of Garland; stepchildren Ginger Harris and Bob Ball, both of Sumner; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and a sister, Martha Wilson of Sumner. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Rex and Max, and three sisters, Eva, Aileen and Imogene. Pallbearers will be Glenn Penn, J.I. Wideman, Bill Ervin, Buddy Carter, J. C. Howell and Joe Birdsong.' *On the same stone with Corene Dicken.
