Funeral Services were held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in the Roller Chapel for William Newton Hicks aged 88. Rev. O. L. Ford of Midway officiated. Mr Hicks died early Friday morning at his residence on Route 1, Gassville.

Pallbearers were J. D. Alley, Floyd Morris, Henry Wheat, W. A. Doaks, Lee Douglas and Sam Douglas.

Mr Hicks, a farmer, had spent most of his lifetime in this county. He was born February 5, 1878 in Howell County, Mo., the son of John Hicks and Mary Ann Bunch Hicks.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs Retta hicks of the home; four daughters, Mrs Willie Jones of Viola, Mrs Opal Reynolds of Springfield, Mo., and Mrs Mabel Brayant and Mrs Norma Jean Cash both of Mountain Home; seven grandchildren; a brother, C. C. Hicks of Bakersfield, Mo., and a sister, Mrs Elvira Powers of Mountain Home.
