Lydia A. Champion, 61, of Commercial Township, died Thursday morning, Sept. 24, 2009, at her home, following a two-year period of declining health.

Born in Millville on Sept. 17, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Eilenberg and Elizabeth Day Eilenberg and the wife of Mark C. Champion. She had been a Commercial Township resident for 35 years and prior to that had resided in Millville. A Millville High School graduate, Mrs. Champion had been employed at Cape May on Canvas in Cape May, was a licensed real estate broker with One Call Real Agency in Millville and was a licensed practical nurse. A co-owner of L&M Champion Construction in Millville, she also was a member and past president of the Photographic Society of Vineland.

In addition to her husband Mark, she is survived by a son, Martin S. Champion of Millville; two daughters, Katy E. Champion-Uras and husband Joseph of West Long Branch, and Jennifer L. Champion of West New York; and two sisters, Florence Schewlakow and Patsy Eilenberg, both of Millville.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the Malaga Assembly of God Church, Dutch Mill Road, Malaga.

Cremation and inurnment took place at Laurel Lawn Crematory in Upper Deerfield Township.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Padgett Funeral Home, Upper Deerfield Township.
