L. P. "Hank" Harrington, 77, of Peach St. died yesterday in Huntersville Hospital. He was a retired mechanic for General Motors Corporation, Truck Division.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow in McEwen Derita Chapel with Rev. Cecil Ballard of Sunset Baptist Church, and the Rev. Coy Dellinger, pastor of Northbrook Baptist officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Memorial Park.
Born July 4, 1898, in Kipling, Harnett County, NC. He was the son of the late William "Willie" Robert Harrington and Evelin Eugenia Arnold Harrington. He was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church.
He was predeceased by his wife of 45 yrs., Eva Mae Cole Harrington. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs Shirley Wood of Belle Chasse, LA, Mrs. Lynda Whitson of Charlotte, Mrs. Jean Williamson of Cherryville; four sons, Bill Harrington of Virginia Beach, Va., and Joe Harrington, David Harrington and Ronald Harrington of Charlotte; one brother, James Reece Harrington of Vineland, NJ., 14 grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at McEwen Funeral Home in Derita.
