- Suddenly, on June 14, 1936 at 49 McPhee Street, Dannevirke, George Reuben Hutching, beloved husband of Elizabeth Hutching, in his 78th year

Obituary Mr George Reuben Hutching, of Dannevirke, in his 78th year. The deceased gentleman, who was born in Moreton, Essex, England, came to New Zealand in 1873 in the sailing ship Helen Denny with his parents, Mr and Mrs Stephen Hutching, late of Woodville. For many years, Mr George Hutching was farming in the Woodville district, occupying a section on Napier Road, while he later resided in Pongaroa for a number of years. Left to mourn their loss are his wife and a grown-up family. There are two sisters in Palmerston North, on brother in Auckland and two brothers, Messrs A. S. and A. F. Hutching in Woodville

He is buried with his 2nd wife Elizabeth Beer who died 9 Oct 1943 age 77
