AMIOT-BROOKS, Dolores Joy Age 80 formerly of Fairfield was called to heaven on September 30, 2009 after a courageous battle with Alzheimers, at Odyssey House Hospice in San Antonio, TX. She was born November 9, 1928 in Hamilton, OH, the daughter of William and Dorothy (Wysong) DeBolt. Joy is survived by husband, Robert Brooks; children, William S. Amiot, III, James Amiot, Sheree S. (Lou) Hampton, Cindy (Bud) Schoolcraft; sister-in-law, Carol (Mike) Arno; 6 grandchildren, Michael, Terra, Jason, Sean, Shannon, and Shawna; sister, Phyllis (Bob) Campbell; numerous great-grandchildren; and many friends, especially Nancy and Mary K. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband William Amiot, Jr.; and sister, Lois and Marsha; grandson, Robby; and daughter-in-law, Linda. Joy, as she was fondly known, describes her true nature. She brought joy and touched so many lives and will be truly missed by so many. Joy dedicated most of her life to Public service, serving as a dispatcher for the Fairfield Police Department for over 30 years, retiring in 1995. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Carol and Mike Arno for following through on their "promise" and for their love and compassion for mother. Visitation will be 12 Noon - until time of service (2 p.m.), Monday, October 5, 2009 at the Fairfield Church of Christ, 745 Symmes Rd., Fairfield with David Hargrave officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. The Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, Fairfield is serving the family. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Animal Friends Humane Society.
