VALLEY, AL -- Mr. Jim Frank Clark, 88, of Valley died Friday morning, 1 Nov 2002 at George H Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. (EST) Sunday, 3 Nov 2002 at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley, AL with Rev Fred Buchanan officiating. Burial followed in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Clark is survived by his wife, Inez Foster Clark; his son, J. Michael (Dixie) Clark of Dalton, GA; two grandchildren, John (Chris) Clark of Kennesaw, GA, and Emily (Stan) McKay of Round Rock, TX; three great-grandchildren, Audrey Clark, Shannon Clark and Chase McKay; his brother, Harry (Beryl) Clark of Huntsville, AL; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Clark of Lanett, AL and Midge Fuller of West Point, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

Born 15 Oct 1914 in Chambers County, AL, Mr. Clark was a retired employee of West Point Pepperell's Riverdale Mill with over 20 years of service with the company. For 20 years, he served as principal of the Riverview Elementary School. He served as chairman of the Chambers County Board of Education for 20 years.

Mr. Clark was very instrumental in obtaining and beginning the H. Grady Bradshaw Library. He was a very active member of River View Baptist Church where he was a Sunday school teacher and a deacon. He was very involved with the children of the church that he taught and followed their progress throughout the years.

Mr. Clark was a member of the Auburn Alumni Club. He was a friend to everyone in the Valley area. He was the son of the late Helen Johnson Clark and George A. Clark.

The family respectfully declines the gift of flowers and asks that memorials be made to the H. Grady Bradshaw Library or to River View Baptist Church in his memory.
