Robert Donald "Bob" Harden, died Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Holdrege Memorial Homes, Holdrege, Nebraska. Bob was born on September 4, 1929 at Kearney, Nebraska, the eldest of five children of Roy I. and Clara B. (Donnell) Harden.

Bob received his education from Kearney Public Schools, graduating from Kearney High School with the class of 1947. Following his education, he worked construction with his father for a few years and also enlisted in the Nebraska Army National Guard. In 1951, Bob was introduced into the automobile business as a mechanic at the Lincoln Mercury and Ray Nelson Dodge Dealerships in Kearney. In 1953, he moved to Holdrege and worked at Gabus Ford, which later was known as Don Loar Ford.

On June 12, 1955, he was united in marriage to RoDonna M. Lindholm at Polk, Nebraska and to this union two sons were born: Deron Robert and Duane Roger. The family made their home in Holdrege, where Bob continued to work as a mechanic. In 1970, Bob founded Bob's Auto Repair of Holdrege, which he operated until his retirement in 1991. On December 15, 2008, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, RoDonna. On August 14, 2010, he was united in marriage to Gwen N. Olson at the First United Methodist Church in Holdrege. Bob and Gwen enjoyed spending the past several years traveling throughout the United States. They also enjoyed traveling to several locations to add to their collection of Jewel T Autumn Leaf Pattern Pottery. Planning and building a new home together was a blessing to them both, which they enjoyed over the past years.

Bob was a 50+ year member of First United Methodist Church in Holdrege, where he served as chairman on the building committee, a past Trustee, on the education committee and also took part on other various committees at the church. He was also a member of the Elks, Eagles, the Ambassadors, Holdrege Chamber of Commerce, and the Kiwanis. He was a member of the Tre Kronar Scandinavian Society in Holdrege and Bob and his first wife, RoDonna were honored to be selected as the Swedish Days King and Queen in 1997. Bob enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, golfing and photography. He was also an avid Husker Football fan and loved doing woodworking projects.

Besides his parents and his wife, RoDonna; Bob was preceded in death by his son, Deron on November 3, 2008; brother, Jackson Harden; sister, Doris Vest-Ripp and her two husbands: Richard Vest and Sylvester Ripp; brothers-in-law: Walter Vest, Delwyn Lindholm and his wife, Lois and Dale Schmidt.
