Marion Louise (Davis) Alford May 20, 1930- June 17, 2009 PINE MOUNTAIN, GA— Marion Louise Alford, 79 of Pine Mountain, GA died Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at Vista Care at Franciscan Woods, Columbus, GA. Graveside services for Mrs. Alford will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Pine Mountain City Cemetery, with Rev. Howard White Officiating the service. Mrs. Alford was born May 20, 1930 in Marked Tree, AR the daughter of William Everett Davis, Jr. and Loyce Kathryn Moore Davis. She worked in retail sales for most of her career. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Pine Mountain, GA. Mrs. Alford was preceded in death by her husband Spurgeon Alford, Sr., and a brother Victor Eugene Davis. She is survived by her two sons and their wives: Spurgeon "Spud" and Cathy Alford of Pine Mountain and Michael Bradley and Wynn Alford of Columbus; two sisters Anne Panneck of Jonesboro, AR and Pam Goodwin of Charleston, West Virginia; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In lieu of flowers contributions may be given in memory of Mrs. Alford to the Alzhiemers Assoc. Georgia Chapter, 1925 Century Blvd. Suite 10, Atlanta, GA 30345 The arrangements are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Hamilton, GA.
