Violet Mae Drake, 92 of Spencerville, Ohio died on Sunday, September 19, 2010, at 10:00 am., at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home in Spencerville, Ohio. Violet was born on November 8, 1917 in Elliott Co., Kentucky to Leonard Sloas and Vada (Waddell) Sloas who both preceded her in death. She married Michael Drake on February 10, 1940 and he preceded her in death on October 27, 1984. She was retired as a registered nurse doing private duty nursing at various hospitals in Toledo, Ohio. Surviving are her son, Michael Drake of Lima, OH, her daughter, Judy Kunzler of Cincinnati, OH, four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, a brother, Leonard Sloas, and a sister, Lorraine Warren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, John Sloas and Eugene Sloas and two sisters, Pauline Sloas and Mavis Traylor. Memorial contributions may be sent to charity of the donor's choice. There will be no visitation and a private family service will be held at a later date in a family cemetery in Franklin Furnace, Ohio.
