Mrs. Mattie Ethel (Logan) Swanson, 68, died Wednesday, June 10, 1964 in Wagoner Hospital of cancer. A native of Cherokee County, she moved to Inola in 1906 and to Tulsa in 1952. In 1963, she came to Wagoner where she was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Immanuel Baptist church with Rev. R. L. Phillips, pastor, officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. Roe Beard of the Tahlequah Crescent Valley Baptist Church.
Survivors are her husband, William E. Swanson, of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Heath, Wagoner, and Mrs. Millie Schmelzla, Phoenix, Arizona; and a brother, Howard Logan of Inola, Oklahoma.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Hersman Funeral Home, Wagoner. Honorary pallbearers are to be John Rigsby, George Stanley, Jim Raley, George Bailey, Ellis Horner and Bill Check. Active pallbearers include Williard Moss Home Henshaw, Hugh Dotson, Dennis Mullins, Elmer Young and Jimmy Brothers.
