Emery Keith Hatch, born February 2, 1922 in Koosharem, Utah to Alpheus Oratio Hatch and Johannah Olsen Hatch, died unexpectedly in his sleep on October 5, 1999 in South Jordan, Utah of natural causes.
Married Gepkie Faris White on July 10, 1943 in Salt Lake City; marriage solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on July 30, 1948.
Survived by his wife, Faris, South Jordan; four sons and three daughters; LaDean Rupp (Larry), Tremonton; Douglas Hatch (Patti), Glendora, CA; Nola Harston (Dennis), Salt Lake; Paul Hatch (Lynette), South Jordan; Marvin Hatch (Becky), Oakdale, MN; Jeff Hatch, South Jordan; Ronda Aramaki (Craig), Riverton; one brother and one sister, Rufus Hatch, Koosharem and Marie Potter, Kearns; 39 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and two sisters: Vernal, Ellis, Lester LeMar, Ludella and Ivie; and daughter-in-law, Wendy Hatch (Douglas).
Keith Hatch was raised by faithful parents in Koosharem and graduated from Richfield High School. He met his sweetheart at a dance in Loa and they continued dancing regularly until five days before his death. He joined the U.S. Army Air Force and was married before going to the Pacific Islands as a soldier during World War II. He returned and lived in Loa and later moved to Magna, Utah and worked for Stauffer Chemical. He moved his family to Granger which was his home for 36 years. After retiring, he went with his wife on a mission to serve in the temple at Johannesberg, South Africa. Following their mission, they later moved to South Jordan and continued doing temple work in the Jordan River Temple. He kept very busy helping his children, working around the house and in the garden up to the day he passed on. He loved his family and the Lord and served faithfully in many callings.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 9, 1999 at 12:00 p.m. in the South Jordan Third Ward Chapel, 9750 South 2200 West. The family will receive friends at a viewing on Friday, October 8, 1999 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, and also one hour prior to the services on Saturday.
Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
