Eleanor (King) Peterson, 93, of Harwich, died April (?) at the Liberty Commons Rehabilitation Skilled Care Center in Chatham after a brief illness. Mrs. Peterson was born in Jersey City, N.J., and raised and educated in Dover, N.J. She worked for 12 years as a bookkeeper for Peoples Trust Co. in Hackensack, N.J., until retiring.
She moved to Chatham from Bergenfield, N.J. in 1966 and then to Harwich in 1976. She was a member of Chatham Garden Club and Chatham Women's Club, and enjoyed baking, gardening and politics. She was the wife of Ralph F. Peterson, who died in 1992.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Freeman of Harwich, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Visitation is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Doane, Beal Ames Funeral Home, 260 Route 28, West Harwich. A funeral is at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, followed by burial in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Harwich Port.
