Double Rites Wednesday For Couple
Double funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the First Methodist Church at Brownsboro for Mr. and Mrs. John Brown.
The Rev. Carl Beard will conduct the services and burial will be in the Leagueville Cemetery. The Carroll and Lehr Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Brown, 86, died in an Athens hospital Sunday at 11:45 p.m. and Mrs. Brown, 82, was found dead at her home at Brownsboro Monday at 6:30 a.m. She had been in ill health and returned home last Saturday from a Tyler hospital.
Mr. Brown was born July 19, 1876, at Murchison and had lived in Henderson County all of his life. He was a retired farmer.
Mrs. Brown was born Feb. 22, 1881, at Rock Hill and was married July 8, 1907, to Mr. Brown in Athens. She was Miss Nora M. Lamance, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Lamance of Reids Branch.
Survivors are two sons, Major John Larkin Brown, a chaplain in the U.S. Air Force at Camden, Delaware, and Andrew Brown of Dallas, and seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
