J H Wall, 53, farmer on the Chapman Dewey plantation at West Ridge died Monday March 30, 1942 as a result of an injury he recieved from being struck by a passing car while he was working on a flat tire by the side of the road.

Originally from Izard County in AR, Mr. Wall had been farming with the Chapman Dewey farms for the past three years.

He was born to Charles and Lilley Wall on Nov 22, 1888 in Melbourne, AR.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ora Lee Wall; three children, JR Wall of West Ridge, WJ Wall and Christine Wall of Grubbs, AR, five sisters: Mrs. Janie Taylor of Caraway, AR, Mrs. Ruth Caruthers of Step Rock, AR, Mrs. Tildie Cox of Caraway, Mrs. Edna Wall of Etowah, and Mrs. Rena Prater of Augusta, AR, three brothers: E Wall and Newt Wall of Etowah and Hubert Wall of Bakersville, CA.

Burial was in Garden Point Cemetery. *(UNMARKED GRAVE.)
West Ridge Farmer Struck By Car Accidentally While Fixing Flat
J. H. Wall, 53, farmer on the Chapman-Dewey plantation at West Ridge died Monday night at 9 o'cock as the result of injuries sustained one hour earlier when a car struck him as he repaired a flat on his car parked along Highway 77 between Three-Way Inn and Etowah.
Joe Beckman youthful driver of the car which struck Mr. Wall, was exonerated of all blame by Brit Sharp, Mississippi County constable who was called to the scene of the accident. The accident was held unavoidable as the stricken farmer was said to have had his car parked at least two feet over in the highway.
Mr. Wall was taken to a nearby farm house where medical aid was rendered by Dr. J. K. Jones of Lepanto. The farmer sustained a broken neck, broken leg, severe lacerations and a number of broken ribs.
The farmer was on route from his home in West Ridge to Etowah for a visit with his brother E. Wall and was accompanied by E. Lancaster a neighbor when the accident ocurred.
