Clayton Bruce Hanks returned to his Heavenly Father on September 26, 2009.

He was born September 24, 1985 to Dave and Korby Hanks in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Clayton had a big, infectious smile that he freely shared with everyone he came across. He was truly kind and considerate of others. He loved to laugh and had a great sense of humor. Clay adored his nieces and nephews and was often seen playing on the family room floor with them; they all adored him. He worked hard to never disappoint people who depended on him, and served many! Clayton had hundreds of friends that he loved and they loved him. He loved being with his buddies, going to Jazz games, BYU games, doing anything fun. His favorite activity was being on the boat with his family and friends. Clay was an excellent wake-boarder, skier, and surfer.

Clayton loved his Heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. He grew up in the Olympus 8th Ward where he had many good friends and wonderful leaders. He was an Eagle Scout and served an honorable mission in the Canada Calgary Mission. He loved his mission presidents, companions and the good people of Canada. Most recently he was a member of the Forty-Ninth Ward of the Salt Lake University Fifth Stake.

He is survived by his parents; siblings, Kristy (Mike) Singley, Tyler (Erika), Jason (currently serving LDS England London South Mission), Julie; nieces, McKell and Addison Singley; nephews, Boston Singley and Carson Hanks. Grandparents, Robert and Mary Daw and Cavell Hanks; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Preceded in death by his grandfather and namesake, Bruce Hanks.

Funeral Services will be held in his home ward at the Salt Lake Olympus Stake Center, 4430 South 2700 East, on Friday, October 2, 2009 at 12:00 noon. A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on the day of the services from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Church.
