Doris M. (Miller) Adler Johnson, 80 years old of Decatur,
Indiana, passed away at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 11,
2005 at her residence in Decatur, Indiana; her death was
unexpected.
Doris was born on October 22, 1925 in Cloverdale, Ohio the
daughter of the late Marvin Miller and the late Maude
(Harmon) Miller, her biological parents who passed away
when she was a young girl. She was then adopted by Henry
E. and Cordelia (Lehman) Adler. Doris married the late Marvel
L. Johnson on February 23, 1947 and he passed away on
January 29, 1996.
Doris was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church,
Decatur, Indiana; and the Decatur Moose Lodge #625. Doris
was also a homemaker.
Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Loren (Brenda) Heckman
of rural Decatur, Indiana, son, Dennis R. Johnson of rural
Decatur, Indiana, son, Joseph K. Johnson of Decatur, Indiana,
daughter, Karlene A. Colclasure of Decatur, Indiana,
daughter, Sara B. Atkinson of rural Decatur, Indiana, sixteen
grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren. Doris was
preceded in death by one son, Thomas A. Johnson, three
brothers, Harold, Clifford, and Lester Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday,
December 15, 2005 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with
the Rev. Fuhrman Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the
Decatur Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 13,
2005 and from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2005 in
the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana. A Moose
Memorial Service will be her at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday in the
funeral home.
