Geo. C. Corbett Dies At Age of 72
George C. Corbett, 72, resident of Ottumwa more than 26 years, where he has been active in church and community affairs, died suddenly at 1 a.m. today at his home, 401 North Van Buren avenue.
Mr. Corbett was born near Corydon July 30, 1872, the son of Lloyd and Emily Corbett. He was married to Norah Hart of Corydon Sept, 9, 1894, and they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last year. He formerly operated a farm north of Ottumwa.
He was a member of the Free Methodist Church.
Surviving, besides the widow, are three sons, Ross and Lloyd Corbett of Ottumwa, and Les Corbett of Alhambra, Calif., two sisters, Mrs. Sam Jenison of Riceville, Iowa, and Mrs. Mary Allred of Los Angeles; one brother, Kenneth L. Corbett of Bakersfield, Calif., six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Two sons preceded him in death.
The body is at the Community funeral parlors awaiting completion of arrangements.
