Ray Victor Brown, a retired Air Force master sergeant formerly of Wheat Ridge, died Feb. 3 at home in Oregon of cancer. He was 85.
A graveside service was Feb. 9 at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
Brown was born April 9, 1909, in Curtis, Neb. He attended McCook Junior College and the University of Nebraska.
Brown taught school in Nebraska and Wyoming from 1931 to 1942. He served in the Army as a sergeant from 1942 to 1945 and he retired from the Air Force in 1967. In 1931, he married Delores Pfrehm. She preceded him in death. In 1945, he married Ada Smith Slusher.
Brown was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife; a sister, Betty Madsen, Nebraska; eight grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
