Born, May 24, 1867 in Callaway Co. Mo.
Died August 18, 1925 in Little Rock, Ark. following
an attack of flu in the spring from which he never fully regained his strength. Funeral services were held at the family residence on Broadway, in Little Rock at one P.M. Wednesday. The body was then taken to Benton Ark. and services held at the First Baptist Church.
Burial was at Rosemont Cemetery, Benton, Ark.
He is survived by his wife (2nd) Birdie(Cook) Bell
Caldwell, a son Fain Caldwell of Little Rock, a daughter, Mrs. Marion Earle Houston ( Mrs James Houston)
of San Francisco Calif., two brothers, Walter and
Robert and a sister Mrs, Lulu C. Duff Worthington of
Camden, Ark.
James Caldwell had been a resident of Benton until
six years previous to his death when he moved to
Little Rock and engaged in the Sporting Goods business
under the firm name of Bush and Caldwell Co. He was
engaged in the mercantile business in Benton for
twenty-five years, and was successful to a marked
degree, he was fifty eight years of age at the time
of his death.
He was married first on Sept. 19,1898 to Irene A. Earle.
