First married Lucinda (Rutledge) Hall in abt 1824: later married Tabitha Dodson (Shumate) Hall before 1835.

He was the son of Lent Hall and his wife Mary "Polly" (Hall) Hall. Lent is believed to be the son of Reverend Nathaniel Hall. Mary "Polly" Hall was the daughter of Fenton and Hannah Hall. Lent and Mary were first cousins.
