Rites Held
For Sewell


Wrothel D. Sewell, 79, who came to Davis 70 years ago from Missouri, died July 16 in Ardmore. He resided at 402 South 8th street and was a retired peace officer.

Sewell was born Dec. 24, 1889 in Walnut Grove, Mo.

Funeral services were held July 18 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist church. Officiating were Rev. Finis Steelman and Rev. Jim House. Interment was in Green Hill cemetery with Bahner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Boo Broaddrick, Frank Heaton, Jimmie Primrose, Dale Noland, H. M. Baxter, and Claude Lovett.

Survivors include his wife, Viola Sewell of the home; two daughters, Mrs. A. E. Burch of Plainview, Tex., and Mrs. R. W. Graves of Rush Springs, Okla.; one son Raymond Sewell of Henryetta, Okla.; four sisters, Mrs. J. W. Rose of Walters, Okla.; Mrs. J. F. James of Oklahoma City, Mrs. J. W. Stewart and Mrs. O. L. Moore, both of Rush Springs; two brothers, W. H. Sewell of Davis and F. M. Sewell of Weatherford, Okla.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Marie Mendolia of Littleton, Colo., and Mrs. Dorothy Jones of Wynnewood; two step-sons, William Crane of Davis and Bobbie Joe Crane, stationed in Maryland with the U. S. Army; 25 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
