He farmed most of his life in the Marietta, Marshall Co. area. He was married twice.First wife was Hazel Jane Hambright. They married 14 May 1904 in Marshall Co., Iowa. They had two daughters, Marvel E., born 1905, who married Harry O. Robinson and Lena Irene Bishop, born 1907, who married Charles E. Waters. Benjamin H. and Hazel J. divorced sometime between 1907 and 1910. Benjamin H. remarried 23 November 1910 to Nora P. Lord. They had four known children. Unknown male, born 17 Mar 1916, Robert B. born 17 June 1918, Lillian Rita and Dorothy Bishop born July 1919.The children spent their early years in Marietta, Marshall Co.,Iowa, but in the late 1930's moved to California. Nora P. Bishop passed away 18 Jul 1939 in Marietta. Benjamin H. Bishop was still living in Marietta area when the 1940 Census was taken. Sometime later he took a trip to California, exact date unknown. His daughter Lillian Rita had married George F. Steward, and they were living in El Monte, Los Angeles Co., California in 1940. His son, B. Robert Bishop was also living with his sister and husband in the 1940 Census. Benjamin H. died 9 Dec 1943 in Los Angeles Co., California, and he was returned home to be buried in Marietta Cemetery, with his wife and other family members.
