Jennings: Funeral services for John Patrick "Pluck" Benoit, 44, will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings, La on Monday, September 28, 2009 @ 10:00 AM with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating. John passed away Friday morning at Ochsner Medical Center in Baton Rouge. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday, Sept. 27th from 2:30 PM until 10:00 PM and will resume on Monday, Sept. 28th at 8:00 AM until the time of his services. A rosary will be recited by Russell Myers on Sunday evening at 7:00 PM. John will be laid to rest in St. Ann's Cemetery.

John Patrick was born in Jennings, La to the late Anitius Benoit, Sr. and Erisa Marceaux Benoit on October 17, 1964. He was a resident of Lake Arthur and worked in the plumbing business. John hobbies were hunting and fishing. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed all the sights and sounds of nature. He was also a great cook and enjoyed having friends and family over for a good meal and great conversation. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Leaving behind to cherish his memory is his beloved mother, Erisa Marceaux Benoit of Jennings; one daughter, Heather and her husband Ronald Hebert of Estherwood; two brothers, Paul "Joe" Benoit and his wife Lisa of Lake Arthur and Anitius Benoit, Jr. and his wife Margret of Jennings; three sisters, Lily and her husband Richard Guillory of Lake Arthur, Elaine and her husband Frank Breaux of Riceland, and Anita and her husband Patrick Tupper of Jennings; a granddaughter, Brooklyn Hebert of Estherwood and a step grandson, Blaze Duhon of Lake Arthur; numerous nieces and nephews and his life long friends, John & Eddie Ann "Peanut" Miller of Welsh and Robert "Bob" Chesley of Jennings.

Preceded in death by his father, Anitius Benoit, Sr.
