Loses Race with Death.
Reno, Nev., Feb. 8. - A race with death from his home in Mono county, California, to this city, sixty miles of the trip being covered in an overland stage, was lost yesterday by Claude H. Hardy, a prominent citizen, who died at the Red Cross hospital here following an operation for appendicitis that was performed too late. The body was taken to Bridgeport for burial.
