Bill passed away at Sutter Lake side Hospital on Sept. 27, at the age of 75. He was born in Broken Bow, Okla. on May 28, 1928.
He was the loving husband of Marilyn for 52 years; beloved father of Pamela Hook and Carolyn "Butchie" Knowles; loving father-in-law of Ken Hook and Douglas Knowles; adoring grandfather of Katherine, Marilyn and Kory Hook and Dylan Knowles.
Bill served in the Army in the 11th Airborne Division from
1946 to 1948. After his discharge from the Army, Bill graduated from Hotel and Restaurant School in San Francisco. He worked
at Hoberg's Resort and was a chef for many years. He was a res-
ident of Cobb Mountain for more than 60 years and was a con-
tractor and avid golfer.
One of Bill's favorite pastimes was attending as many of his
grandchildren's activities as he could manage. Therefore, the
family suggests that donations be made in Bill's memory to the
Clear Lake High School Booster Club.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., on Thursday, Oct.
2, a the United Christian Parish at 745 Brush St. in Lakeport.
Pastor Shannon Kimbell-Auth will be officiating. Immediately
following the service, there will be a gathering at the home of
Pam and Ken Hook at 457 Miramonte Ave., Lakeport.
