Stanley "Dee" Rainwater was the youngest son of John "Tubby" Rainwater and Willie Mae Lanning Rainwater. He joined his mother and father in the family upholstery business, Rainwater Upholstery on Fairground Street in Marietta, and became owner after the death of Tubby in 1982. Along with his mother and his aunt, Lois Raniwater Orton, he continued making well respected auto and furniture upholstery and had many repeat customers and several large accounts, such as Cobb County Government.

He was a lifelong animal and plant lover like his mother, and spent much of his childhood free time with his family at their hunting cabin in Suches, GA. He caught many fish and killed many deer, rabbits, and a few turkey in those mountains.

Dee never married, but spent much of his adult life with his common law wife Hazel. He resided in Cherokee county until his death in 2008. He had no children and was survived by older brothers John and Ronald Rainwater.
