Maude died at Brokaw Hospital, six hours after suffering a stroke. She lived at 601 E. Washington St. She was active in musical circles for many years, and was a soprano and a member of Amateur Musical Club. She had lived in Bloomington since childhood.

She was active in Wesley Methodist Church; secretary of the YWCA board for 8 years and before her death, was made an honorary member. She had served as a director of the Salvation Army and the Lucy Orme Morgan Home.

Her parents were Mrs. and Mrs. Olive Beebe. She was survived by her brother, Claude A. Wood, of Lyndon, Kansas, and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Johnson, of Vallejo, California.
