Born in Pennsylvania on Sept. 15, 1893, he was the son of Benjamin and Matilda Eaton Childs. He had been a resident of Kingsville since 1921.
Mr. Childs was a self-employed farmer all his life.
A veteran of World War I, he served with the U. S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, the former Maude Weekley; five stepsons, Boyd and Bonnie Weekley, both of Newton Falls, Robert Weekley of Ashtabula, Calvin Arnett of Kingsville and Herbert Arnett of Ashtabula; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Ruby Pearl Fluharty of Denmark; two brothers, Chester Childs of Conneaut and Leon Childs of Stow; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephew.
