Mrs. Christina Johnson was born in Richland Township, Clarion County, March 13, 1819, and died March 23, 1905, aged 86 years and 10 days. She always lived within a half a mile of where she was born. She was ever held in the very highest esteem. She was married to Peter Johnson, January 16, 1838, and to them were born fifteen children, nine of whom are living. They are Adam and Daniel, of Akron; Mrs. Elizabeth Wood, of Belmont, N.Y.; Mrs. Maria Moyer, Mary E. Switzer and George, of Hampden, O.; Mrs. Emma Wilsox, who cared for her mother for thirteen and a half years; Frank, on the old homestead; and Mrs. Sadie Knight. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson lived together for over sixty years. He died a little over seven years ago. There are 42 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Johnson was a life long member of the Reformed Church and was ever faithful to the Savior in whom she relied to the last. The funeral services were conducted by her pastor,, Rev. H.S. Nickolson, from St. Marks Reformed Church at Monroe, Saturday, March 25, 1905, at ten o'clock. Interment was made in the Monroe Cemetery.
