Funeral services for Clara Lee "Shug" Amos, age 62, of Coila, were held October 26, 2002 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Ben W. Parton officiating. Burial was held at the church's cemetery in Black Hawk with Roberts & Sons Mortuary in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Amos died October 19, 2002 at her residence.

Survivors include her sons, Edward Amos, of Lorman, Tannor Amos of Virginia Beach.VA, Kendra Amos and MeMarcus, both of Black Hawk; step-sons, Tommie Anderson of Birmingham, AL. and Roberts Amos, Sr. of Bryant, AR; daughters, Bobbie Reid of Charlotte, NC, Jeanette Phillips and Ruthie Amos, both of Black Hawk, Louise Amos-McCaskill of Carrollton. Dr. Linda J. Amos of Wilmington, DE, Charlene Amos-Robinson of Augusta, GA, Darlene Amos-Green of Memphis, TN, Irene Amos of Gulfport, Angela Amos-Ward of Vaiden and Patricia Amos-Soto of Columbia, SC; step-daughters, Mary Aldridge and Patricia Blackmon, both of Black Hawk, Helen Lewis of Chicago, IL, Gail Locke of Memphis, TN and Marcia Leslie of Cleveland, OH; brothers, John Love, Willie Love, Joe Morris, Marshall Morris and Roy Morris, all of St. Louis, MO, C.W and Morris of Minneapolis, MN; sisters, Annie Reaves of Greenwood, Luvilla Love of St. Louis, MI, Essie Peterson of Black Hawk and Allie Fluker and Rosie Streater, both of Charlotte, NC; 28 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; 17 step-grandchildren and 25 step-great-grandchildren.
