Obituary:
Clyde Wiggins Witherington , 87 years of age, a native of McKenzie and a long-time resident of Daphne, died Friday at a local hospital.
She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star 127 in Fairhope and an active member of Daphne Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for 27 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Katherine M. Gautney of Daphne and Dorothy J. White of Fairhope; seven sons, William E. Witherington of Daphne, George M. Witherington of Mobile, Arthur C. Witherington of Daphne, G. Ed Witherington of Spanish Fort, R. Harold Witherington of Magnolia Springs, James D. Witherington of Brookwood, and Charles E. Witherington of Daphne; 37 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Daphne Chapel of Bayview Funeral Home. Services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at Daphne Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Fairhope Memory Gardens.
