Wilmington, April 18 Special. The funeral of Benjamin H. J. Ahrens, one of the city's most substantial citizen, whose death occurred Sunday, was held from the late residence this afternoon, thence to St. Paul's Lutheran church, conducted by Rev. Dr. W. A. Snyder, the pastor. Interment was in Oakdale cemetery. Mr. Ahrens was actively engaged In business here for a number of years, but on account of his health he retired from business in 1903. He was vice president of the Atlantic Trust & Banking Co. and large real estate owner. He is survived by his wife and two sons, Adolph G. and Edward Ahrens of this city, and a sister, Mrs. William Muller of New York.
