Services for Viola N. Bales Wimpsett, 86, who died Friday at 1:54 a.m. at Henry County Hospital, will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Nazarene Church. Mrs. Wimpsett, a resident of the Pleasant Manor Care Center, Mount Pleasant, had been a patient at the hospital since March 1.

The Rev. Robert Kelly will officiate. Burial will be in the Pennington Cemetery, south of Sigourney. The family will receive friends at Behner Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Mrs. Wimpsett was born Nov. 1, 1893 at Richland, the daughter of Levi and Anna Bales. She was married to Grant Wimpsett July 4, 1910 in Ottumwa.

She is survived by her husband, Grant Wimpsett, a resident of Pleasant Manor Care Center; five children, Homer Wimpsett, Ottumwa, Marie Smithart, Des Moines, Mattie Morris, Indianola, Betty Eckardt, Fairfield and Donna Mickey, Little Rock, Ark.

She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and one sister, Mattie Collett, Richland.

She was preceded in death by six children, four grandchildren and four sisters.
