Chapel services for Ernest B. Arnold, 81, of Tyler, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Roy Thoene officiating.

Interment will follow in Tyler Memorial Park.

Mr. Arnold was born Oct. 16, 1927, in Omen to the late Ezra D. and Ella Mae Libhart Arnold, and passed away Sept. 23, 2009, in Lindale.

He was owner/operator of Arnold Typewriter Supply Company.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the USS Manatee, retired from the U.S. Navy, belonged to the Masons, Shrine, York Rite, the American Legion and VFW Post.

Mr. Arnold loved to hunt, fish and spend time with his family.

Mr. Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and five brothers. He is survived by his wife, Stella M. Arnold of Tyler; daughter, Mary Ann Robbins and husband J.D. of Lindale; sons, Leroy Arnold and wife Brenda of Bullard and Calvin Arnold and wife Sandy of Flint; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Doyle Arnold of Pensacola, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be members of the Sharon Temple Motor Corps Unit, which he enjoyed for several years.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home.
