Munn, of New York City, a large land owner on the Watkins & Flint purchase, including thousands of acres in what is now Newfield. Mr. Beebe purchased a store of goods and for years carried on a vigorous and successful trade at what was termed "the west end". Mr. Beebe was later connected with the milling and manufacturing industries, and owned a hotel. In 1840 he served as an Town Supervisor for Ithaca."
